Mark Ohrstrom

Mark Ohrstrom   is CEO of Larkspur Management in The Plains, VA.  Long interested in native trees, he has established an orchard on his farm and provided trees to friends, family, and a low income housing community outside The Plains.

Already one of the Vice-Presidents on the Piedmont Environmental Council’s Board , Mark was appointed an Interim Director by the VATACF Board, until he stands for election at the Annual membership meeting.   He plans to do more with chestnut, mindful of its long links as a primary food and timber source in the Virginia forest.

Since Mark became aware of TACF’s restoration efforts, he has funded renewed chestnut research at the Arboretum, allowing them to establish two backcross orchard sites with TACF in 2009.
