Images of Appalachian chestnut

Click on each of the drawings for brief descriptions about chestnuts in the wild, with each tied to a specific example of a chestnut scene from my recent excursion in the southern Appalachians in Georgia and North Carolina. I have made the figures clean and simple so as to easily stand substantial reduction in size. Ideally, the text and figure should fit on a single page. Overall, this about covers the chestnut scenes that our members can expect to find in their “megatransect” along the Appalachian Trail.
